About Time!

I finally uploaded my pictures off the camera and onto my computer. Yeah! Some fun stuff to post!

The last couple weeks have been pretty busy. Josh's brother was in town from Montucky with his cute family. We had a good week spending all our free time with them. The girls had so much fun playing together. Olivia is having some withdrawals I think from all the excitement.

One of our big adventures was a day at Lagoon. I had not actually been to Lagoon since my Junior year in high school. Lots has changed but some things are still very much the same. We started out the day at Lagoon-a-beach. We will just go ahead and skip that next time and spend more time with the rides.

Jorja took a nap after swimming and I spent some time with Olivia and cousins on the little kid rides.

Josh gave into peer pressure and went on Wicked without me... I had made him promise to not do so without me. The lucky butt got to go on it twice. It is by far the best ride at Lagoon. We had a great day eating carnie food and enjoying the family. My little bro and Jaye even made it over for a couple hours and I was able to ride some rides with Blake(aka... Lagoon addict!). It was a fun but LONG day and my feet were killing me be the time we got home. Thanks to Ginger Mom for spoiling us all rotten. She got the best deal in town and treated us all to the day of fun!

Jorja totally freaked out on Puff! I wish I had gotten her face... I hate to say, it was pretty funny. She did better by the third time around.
Olivia couldn't get enough. She had lots of fun riding rides with her cousins.

On Wednesday while Josh and I were both working. Ginger Mom took Liv, Jorja and Uncle Sean to the Davis County Fair. They had a great time! Dinner and farm animals... what more could you ask for? Jorja rode her first horse and I am sad that I missed out on all the fun. I'm so glad they took pictures for us!

Family Update

We have had an interesting couple weeks here. I know people have been wondering about how things are going. So... here is the update.

Last week I made up my mind. I decided to fight for my marriage. For better or worse, in sickness and health as we promised to eachother. Josh has been sick. I love Josh and if I didn't want a divorce then I would have to give him the benefit of the doubt and truly deal with our issues and put them in our past.
Josh has pretty much moved back home. Last weekend we had a very powerful/emotional day and have since been on the same page. We have always had a pretty intense connection and I was fighting it because of my hurt and anger. We are better together. I am not trusting him much to be home alone with the girls while I am at work. That is his witching hour... after the girls go to bed and he is home alone the beer comes out. I will not tolerate that when it comes to our girls. I feel like Josh is being honest with himself for the first time ever and with me. He still has many things to deal with and many hard conversations with people he loves in his future. But, I feel like we have the same goals and can work through this together. He has choices and he always did. Josh is an alcoholic and he is finally being honest with himself about that. He knows that he can never drink again or he will be in that same low spot again. He has been very dishonest about how much he has been drinking in the past and that is no more. Our goals are the same now and I pray that we can accomplish them together. A lot of relationships have been damaged in his wake and we are trying to deal with that one day at at time. For the most part we are doing OK. We have had lots of hard conversations. We are going to be seeking outside help. Along with the self help tools we have been using. It's time to start working together and communicating better. We have a lot to deal with still but there is hope that we can be better together through all of this.

Thank you for everyone's endless support. Especially my Mommy and Mommy-in-law for helping us with the girls so we can have time together to heal, for their undying support and love. Thank you.

I have tons to blog about, but really haven't had the time or motivation to do it. I haven't even taken the pictures off the camera from before my grandma's funeral. It's going to be a busy week for us. I work the next three nights and will hardly be home. Then we have family coming in for the weekend. Olivia is very excited to play with her cousins. We are planning a Lagoon day next Monday. I am not very excited to take Jorja. I haven't been to Lagoon since I was in high school. Should be interesting non the less. I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer. I can't believe how fast it is going by! Will do my best to get some pictures up here.
Love you all!

VENICE - Our kind, loving, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Marcia Ellen Wilson Marshall Witt, 99, died July 10, 2009, at her daughter's home in Grand Junction, Colo.

She was born Dec. 19, 1909, in Colonia Morelos, Sonora, Mexico, a daughter of David Johnson and Miriam Adella Cox Wilson.

Both her grandfathers served in the Mormon Battalion. Her father, at the age of 12 in 1855, walked barefoot, herding cows across the plains. While still a young, single man he rode for the Pony Express between Monroe and Cove Fort.

Her father was previously married to Julia Didamia Johnson and they had 11 children. Her father married Marcia's mother, July 1, 1895. Marcia was the seventh of eight children born to her father and mother. She had 29 sibling, including 14 half and eight step-siblings.

As a 14-month-old infant, she journeyed in a horse-drawn wagon from Mexico to Hillsdale. Marica's father died three months before her third birthday. Her mother became a nurse and delivered many children in Tropic where Marcia grew up. Her mother, with eight children, married Frank Riding, a widower with seven children. They had three more children.

At the age of 20, Marcia married Walter Marshall, a widower with two children. Marcia and Walt had four children. They raised their family in Marysvale.

Walt died in 1964, leaving Marcia a widow at age 56. She learned to drive a car, and to visit family and friends. She spent several months in the wilds of British Columbia with her daughter Zona and family.

At age 62, she married Dean Witt. They first lived in Salt Lake City, but moved to the place they loved in Venice where they cared for her son, Clayton's beaver ranch. Marcia also raised chickens. They enjoyed numerous visitors and their home was plastered with photos of grandchildren and announcements of births, weddings and graduations.

At 67, she flew with Dean to Australia for an LDS mission that was a highlight to their lives. She enjoyed quilting, chickens, and learning, but she loved people - especially her grandchildren. She made many quilts for their births and weddings.

After Dean passed away she moved to Grand Junction, where she lived her last years with her daughter and son-in-law. She was frequently visited by friends and family and always gave them hugs. Now she leaves us for her final destination.

She married Walter Allen Marshall June 19, 1930. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple, Nov. 10, 1965. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1964. She then married Dean Russell Witt, Oct. 29, 1971, in the Salt Lake temple. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1990.

She is also preceded in death by a son, Walter V. Marshall; her parents; a daughter-in-law, Donna Jacobsen Marshall; great-grandson, Brandon Savage; and 28 siblings.

She is survived by her children, Clayton J. (Lavonne) Marshall, Venice; Zona (Eldon) Bray, Grand Junction; Henry LaVon (Pamela) Marshall; stepchildren with Walter Marshall, Mildred Marshall (Leonard) Carlson, all Salt Lake City; Lenard Allen Marshall; stepchildren with Dean Witt, Dorothy Ruth McGuire, Leslie Dean Witt, Nora Kathleen Vennard, Randy Lee Bringhurst and Danell Justet; half-brother, Robert Dennis Riding, St. George. She has 14 actual grandchildren and many more by marriage; numerous great-and great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all. We will miss her dearly.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place Friday, July 17, at noon, at the LDS church, 2235 Kingston Road in Grand Junction. Friends may call after 11 a.m., prior to services.
